NCAM Condemns Arson Attack & anti-Semitic Graffiti on Sydney Childcare Centre and Calls for Unity

The National Council of Australian Muslims (NCAM) strongly condemns the disgraceful arson attack and the anti-Semitic graffiti on a childcare centre in Sydney this morning. Such an act is not only morally and civilly unacceptable but is also a crime under both Australian law and international law. NCAM stand firm in our belief that no harm should ever come to innocent children, and we emphasize that such violence has no place in our society.

This attack on a childcare centre signals a deeply troubling shift in our Australian community. The National Council of Australian Muslims (NCAM) urges all Australians to work together to preserve the unity and harmony that define our multicultural and diverse society. The strength of our nation lies in its rich diversity, and it is a core principle that no individual or group should undermine. We must ensure that the social fabric that binds us all together remains intact, without succumbing to external conflicts or ideologies. Any threat to this diversity, in any form, is a threat to the safety and security of our community.

We also call for a reaffirmation of the values of equality and respect for all. NCAM asserts that all religions reject the targeting of individuals based on their beliefs, regardless of their faith. We demand complete equality, free from discrimination, in safeguarding the rights and dignity of all individuals, especially when it comes to protecting divine religions from any form of harm or distortion.

As we look to the future, it is vital that we leave behind a legacy rooted in values, culture, and civilization. We must foster a society where bigotry and hatred are rejected, and where justice, human freedom, and dignity prevail. Let us build a culture of peace, love, and tolerance, and respond to crises with wisdom, reason, and collaboration. May God protect Australia and its people from all harm.

Sajida Salman, NCAM Director, echoes this call for unity, understanding, and respect, urging everyone to contribute to a safer, more inclusive society.
